Five to Represent Washington at Brooks PR

With the Brooks PR set to take place in under two weeks, the fields are taking shape. Currently five Washington Track athletes have been invited and accepted to compete at the Brooks PR Invitational in Seattle on June 20th.

Boys 2 Mile

A rematch of the 3A State Meet, John Dressel and Tanner Anderson will toe the line together. Dressel, the state champ, has won 25 of the 48 times that we have Anderson and Dressel competing against each other throughout their career. The Mount Spokane Senior has had the better of Andreson lately beating him in 10 of the last 13 races. Regardless of outcome, both will go down as some of the most decorated distance runners from Washington.

Girls 2 Mile

Double State Champ Jordan Oakes will focus in on the 2 Mile in Seattle. The junior, who took more the 1600m and 3200m victories in 3A, will be challenged as she comes in seeded towards the back of the competitive field.

Girls 100m Hurdles

Girls 4A Hurdle Champ, Brandi Hughes, will be tested in just over a week in Seattle. Hughes is coming off of a personal best time of 14.10 where she clinched the state title.

Boys Mile

Returning to the Brooks PR, Jack Yearian will aim for a better finish than a year ago where he was 14th. The Bellarmine Prep junior enters with a season best of 4:10 for the 1600m. After a second place finish at the state meet as only a sophomore, Yearian took the victory this year in 4:12.
