2017: Texas Distance Festival Preview

Boys 1600m

Event Info: Saturday, 5:25 p.m.
State of the action: Can anyone run 4:10? That's the question that may face Arlington Martin's Cade Bethmann (4:15.20) and El Paso Americas' Brian Lujan (4:15.50), since they are the closest to dropping time near that marker entering the meet. But eight runners enter with times under 4:25. Southlake Carroll freshman Chris Tracht, who runs with one prostethic, will attempt to break the world record in the T44 classification of the 1500m. He'll do so in the 1600m needing a conversion. That time? He needs to run 4:53 or faster.
