Why: Because it was here last year where Temecula Great Oak (Ca.) High broke a national record in this race in 16:52.95. But last week, American Fork (UT) High shattered it in a time of 16:41.30, using three efforts under 4:08 to get it done. Is that even within reach? Quick answer: No. But it will be interesting to see how Great Oak responds from one of the all-time best performances. After all, challenges are what bring out the best in athletes. The team will consist of Solomon Fountain (4:10.28), Gavin Korby (4:19.19), Carlos Carvajal (4:22.11) and Jacob Korgan (4:24.98) - maybe more within reach, Great Oak will look to take down Bellarmine's US No. 1 mark of 7:45.56 in the 4x800.
