4A Girls State Meet Day 2: Hutchinson 42-6.75, Stueckle 14.81 100h, 18-1 LJ

Freshman Courtney Hutchinson from Mead didn’t want her distance running classmates (Gardner, Knight, Neale, Weitz…) to upstage her so she put a 15 inch PR in the shot to get the victory. Her throw of 42-6.75 puts her fourth on the all-time freshmen list behind sister Corissa (41-1.5 in 2002.) Kayla Adam from Thomas Jefferson finished second with a put of 42-3.5

Emerald Ridge’s Kayla Stueckle got double gold medals today with her wins in the 100 meter hurdles in 14.81 and in long jump with an 18-1.
