Sehome will be hosting the First Annual Sehome X-C Invitational on Saturday, September 11, 2010. The meet will take place on a slightly revised version of the NWC Conference Course. The distance will be revised to be between 2 and 2.25 miles. We think this is a great chance for athletes to get an early season competitive, but low key, experience. We will run races by class. Beginning with Freshmen Girls and ending with Senior Boys. With the Freshmen running first, they won't have to wait around getting nervous, and will get to spend the rest of the day having fun cheering for the teammates and getting a great introduction to the cross country experience.

Scoring: Scoring will be made up of 6 placers - your top finisher in each classification race plus your next two highest placers regardless of race. We will break ties by continuing to add in the next highest placers until the tie is broken. This method is commonly referred to as the McDowell Scoring System.

Medals / Ribbons to the top 10 in each race.

Medals to top 3 overall boy and girl times on the day

Team trophies for 1st through 3rd place teams

Combined Team Trophy for best combined boys and girls score

Civic Field Comlex: The Civic Field Complex is a great venue for an invitational. There are covered stands, plenty of bathrooms, and heated locker rooms. The course is extremely viewer friendly. Grandma or Grandpa can sit in the stands and see nearly half of the race. Spectators wanting to do a little running can see even more. The terrain ranges from grass to track to trail. The outer loop (which is run twice) contains some mini roller coaster hills on grass and one extended uphill on trail. It is a challenging but relatively fast course.
