New Braunfels Inv. Recap: Luling Dominates

-

Just 8 days removed from the retirement of legendary coach Mike Barnett, the Luling Eagles boys returned to the course in dominating fashion as they cruised to a 26 point total at the New Braunfels InvitationalNew Braunfels and Lytle came in second and third respectively with 87 and 94 points.

The Eagles were led by Texas Milesplit's Preseason Countdown's 7th ranked athlete Buster Roberts who ran 9:19 to take the individual title. Roberts and Ace Castillo of Tuloso-Midway ran side by side for the first mile but Roberts pulled away in the second mile much to the delight of the loud Luling faithful.

On the girls side, junior Sarah Wuest of New Braunfels High School ran an 11:16 to ensure the girls individual trophy stayed in Comal County. The team title however belonged to FEAST as they placed four girls in the top ten to come away with the victory.
