It appears Ryan Oosting is ready to defend his 5K title at next weekend's New Balance Nationals.
In his final tune-up before heading to North Carolina for the nationals, the Arlington junior battled some of the nation's best two-milers at the Brooks PR Invitational in Seattle, Wash., on Friday night. Oosting held his own in the elite field, placing fifth overall with a personal best of 8 minutes, 53.46 seconds. Eight runners in the field broke nine minutes!
Oosting's performance was a four-second PR and came less than a week after winning his second consecutive mile and two-mile crowns at the All State Meet.
