Martin, Lewis Entered In Brooks PR

A pair of Pennsylvania high school stars will wrap up their outdoor in the Pacific Northwest. Avery Lewis and Gary Martin are entered in the Brooks PR Invitational, set to go off on Friday.

Lewis, a freshman at Friends' Central, is entered in the 100 meter dash. Lewis holds the fastest time this season in PA in the event. She went 11.48 at the Mark Trail Invitational in May. She should match up well with a field that is made up of all seniors and juniors, except for Lewis. Lewis is currently PA No. 3 all-time in the 100 meters. We'll see if she can leapfrog Breehana Jacobs (11.47 in 2006) to PA No. all-time.

Martin, meanwhile, is entered in the mile. The junior from Archbishop Wood will face a loaded field, as he looks to improve upon his own PA state record in the event. Martin went 4:03.53 for a full mile at the John Hay Distance Festival on June 4, breaking the 39-year-old state record held by Ken Lowry. At Brooks, he will face a strong field that includes Nathan Green, who is US No. 1 in the mile with a season best of 4:00.97.
