Kai Peterson (River Ridge, Lacey) jumped 25-0 in the long jump at the River Ridge, Lakes @ Mt. Tahoma meet on April 16, improving from his previous best of 14-4.75. The mark ranks #1 among 2,599 athletes in Washington state and sets a new River Ridge High School record. Peterson also set a personal record in the 3200 meters, running 11:45.58 after entering with a best of 13:25.34.
Sephaira Watts-Johnson (Lakes, Lakewood) cleared 19-5 in the long jump at River Ridge, Lakes @ Mt. Tahoma on April 16, improving from 15-2. The sophomore ranks #4 of 1,912 athletes in Washington and #2 among 369 sophomores statewide. The jump establishes a new Lakes High School record, and Watts-Johnson also set a personal record in javelin with a throw of 74-3, improving from 72-2.
