Big Times at Brooks PR Invitational!

Wesley Frazier is back once again!  After sitting out most of cross country season before making a run to Footlocker Nationals, the Ravenscroft sophomore had once again gone into training and hadn't raced during the winter.  At the Brooks PR invitational in Washington today, she emerged with an enormous performance!  Wesley ran the fastest time in the nation this year, and the 9th fastest time ever indoors, with her clocking of 10:17.47!  That's a new North Carolina all-time record!  Her winning effort saw her falling off the lead late, but then rallying with an huge kick through the last 60 meters to take the race, which had 9 girls under 10:30.

 

She wasn't the only North Carolina athlete to light up the track in Seatlle, either:

 

Thomas Graham (Cary Academy) finished 3rd in the boys' 2 mile with a time of 9:04.14 (US #4, NC #1 this seaons, NC #2 all-time). 

 

Scott Morgan was VERY close behind, finishing 4th in 9:04.99 (US #5, NC #2 this season, NC #3 all-time). 

 

Blake Williams (Northern Durham) finished 4th in the mile with a time of 4:13.96 (US #6, NC #1 this season, NC #4 all-time).

 

Ryan Walling (Green Hope) finished 14th in the mile with a time of 4:17.91 (NC #2 this season, NC #7 all-time).

 

Daishon Barger (West Rowan) ran 8.10 in the 60 hurdles prelims, good for US #12.
