Washington State Meet Day 2

   Besides Williams other State  championJons crowned included Bailee Jacka of Deer park, who won the  2A Pole  with a vault of 10-09.00.   The winds & rain made it a challenge for everyone but Jacka handled it best.  Placing second was Amanda Morris (10-06) of Mark Morris, while Tiffany Richardson finished third with 10-03.    Jon Lawson of Prairie dominated the 3A Boys' Discus Throw by going 189-11 to top mathew Lill of north Central (160-01) & Dan Henehan (158-07) of Woodrow Wilson.

    Veronica Bradley of Hanford  with  claimed the Long Jump title in the 3A Division with a leap of 17-09.   Earning second & third weere Kathran Dean of Mountain View (17.08.75) & Kate Adler (17-03) of Seattle Prep.   Lindsay Burns of West Valley - Yalima edged Alanna Coker of Juanita by .75  in a close competition with each making 17-00.     Kayla Adams of Thomas Jefferson is the new 4A Shot Put champion after going 45-10.75.   Courtney Hutchinson of Mead (43-11) & Alyx Toeaina of kentwood (43-09) garnered 2nd & 3rd.

    Dan East of Bellingham topped a very close vield in the 2A High Jump by winning a jump-off with PJ Benedictus of Renton at 6-05.  Right behind the duo was anthony Bowden of Franklin pierce, who took third with 6-04.   there was also a jump-off at 6-02 for forth, which was won by Riley Fraser of Sehome over Matt Mauro of West valley - Spokane.   The 2A boys' Javelin title went to Austin Hamilton of W F West with 185-05.   Washouugal's Brendan Casey finished second with 177-08 & Dakota Condos of Cheney placed third with 170-08.  Jacobe Valenzuela of East Valley - Yakima earned fourth with 170-02. 

   Later that afternoon Kasan came back to claim the 4A High Jump.  The event was contested in a driving rain with added  gusts of wind & was even delayed a bit due to hail but Williams still leaped 6-10 and despite slick conditions made one very solid attempt at  7 feet.   Mt. Tahma ahtletes Josh Taylor (6-08) and Rondi Pate (6-06) secured second & third.     at 14-00.

   Brendan Casey of Washougal led the way in the 2A pole Vault going 14-06 to win a jump-off with Joseph Aubert of West valley - Spokane.   Luke Grigg of Quincy won a jump-off with Gibb Dallas ofLlynden for third.

   The weather surely was not an aid to the  hurdlers but Sadie Sparks of Chiawana & Rachel McQuivey of Skyview both broke fifteen seconds with Sparks coming out on top  with 14.77.   MCQuivey was right behind with 14.99, while Jaleecia Boland of Federal Way placed third with 15.04.   Erin Allen of inglemoor finished in fourth with 15.23.
