Discipline and fortitude, will always be the foundation for any championship team.  Team work and self reliance followed by the grit to overcome pain and adversity with courage and bearing exemplify true champions.

Nestled on the western shores of the Puget Sound is a remarkable group of harriers from Kingston High School with an opportunity to make a historic run in the state of Washington.  With a population of just over 1600, Kingston, Washington shouldn’t have the population pool to produce a top notch sporting program.  However, it only takes a population of seven unified in the spirit of solidarity to truly make an impact on this sport.

Returning 6 of 7 varsity runners, the 2A squad places three runners in the Pre-Season Girls Top 100 (#3, #14, #30), a feat only matched by 4A powerhouse, Stanwood High School of Stanwood, Washington (#6, #8, #42).

consensus choice to overrun the 2A division and claim a Pre-Season State Overall #3 ranking.  What will the season bring from the Kingston girls?  We could see a runaway state championship and top team overall honors.  It certainly is on the table if they are willing to put forth the weekly discipline and fortitude required to claim that mantle.  As the Ferris Boys team has stated, who is ready to “Go to hell and back” to claim the glory on the other side?

You are on notice Washington Girls Teams, little Kingston High is on the field of battle ready to slay some giants.
