It's not even October and there are already 13 different girls that have broken the coveted 17-minute barrier.
In fact, U.S. girls are so fast this season that you have to have run sub-17:45 to squeak into the top 100.
The top three spots look exactly the same as they did a week ago, with Boerne Champion (Texas) junior Elizabeth Leachman sitting at the top, while Topeka-Seaman's (Kan.) Ryin Miller and Pella's (Iowa) Marissa Ferebee are ranked No. 2 and No. 3.
The only movement inside the top five was the addition of Chloe Huyler, the Lakeridge (Ore.) senior who ran 16:39.10 to win at The Mook XC Invite at Alderbrook.
Indian Creek's (Ind.) Libby Dowty rounds out the top five just like she did a week ago.
