Sprints

There was controversy in the boys’ 100. There were five heats of the 100 with the winner of each heat and next best three times qualifying to the finals. In heat one the times recorded were; 10.3, 10.5, 10.6, 10.6, 10.9, and 11.0. There was no wind at this point it appears these are incredibly fast runners or there was a timing error with the plunger hand timing system.

Brendan Olson from Ferris got the victory in the final with an 11.3. He was followed closely by Bobby Candon from Gonzaga and Nate Yamada from Lewis & Clark both with 11.5.

The girls’ 100 did not include a runner from a 4A school. The winner was Shelby Maurer from Cheney with a 12.6. Shelby also got the win in the 400 with a 1:00.4.

In addition to NC boys’ distance success they also picked up victories in the sprint medley, the thowers 4x100, and a second in the 4x400.
