3A Girls East Region Day 2: WV 1:42.91 4x200, Jager 12.18w 24.25, Burns 56.78, Dezellem 44.56

Mt. Spokane won the girls team competition with 150 points to Hanford’s 126. The Wildcats used a balance attack in their victory but they got big points in the pole vault going 1-2-3-5 with Britta LaVoie and Courtney Bray vaulting 10-0. Hurdler Joanna Luse won the 100 hurdles in 15.23 and Molly Cole won the 800 in 2:22.11.

 

West Valley sprinters Chantel Jaeger and Lindsay Burns won the individual sprint races and helped their relay teams win the 4x200 and 4x400. Jaeger flew with the help of the wind to a 12.18 100 meters (3.9 wind) then came back in the 200 to run a state leading 24.25 and eighth best all time. Burns won the 400 running the second best 3A time in the state at 56.78. Burns and Jaeger joined Chelsea Neil and Haley Curtis to win the 4x200 in the State’s best 3A time of 1:42.91.  

 

 

Shayle Dezellem from Shadle ran a PR and state’s best 3A time in the winning the 300 hurdles with a 44.56.
