3A Girls State Meet Day 2: Coker 36-1.75, Adamko 133-8, Cummings 56.43 and Burns 56.74 400m

Alana Coker from Juanita was shivering as she put on her warm-ups when the triple jump was complete. Trough shattering teeth she remained enthusiastic and excited about her victory today with a 36-1.75. “It was a tough day with a bad head wind but we all had goals to go after” said Coker. The 3A triple jump was another closely contested jump event with 2nd through 5th places only 4.5 inches apart. Ellyn Erving from Blacnchet was second at 35-5.75, Kathleen Mulligan from Mt Rainier third 35-04.50, Sasha Weber from Timberline 35-02.50 fourth, and Stephanie Schreiner  from Enumclaw 35-01.25 fifth.

Double victories for Columbia River’s Anna Adamko! She won the discus yesterday and picked up the victory in the javelin today with her throw of 133-8. She still has the shot put Saturday morning. Kelly Besmer from Mt. Si finished second with her throw of 129-0.
