4A boys State Meet Day 2: Eager 179-10 Discus, Maricich 7-0 HJ, Williams 47-6 TJ and 6-11 HJ

Derek Eager from Tahoma got paybacks over Mead’s Sam Wright in the discus today. Eager finished second to Wright on Friday in the shot but Eager got the win today with his throw of 179-10 to Wright’s 167-2.

 

Junior Kasen Williams from Skyline, Senior Levi Taylor from Lewis and Clark, and sophomore Tay'lor Eubanks Cascade finished in the exact order of their state 4A triple jump rankings. Williams, the leader, got the win with a 47-6, Taylor was second with a jump of 46-11, and Eubanks finished third with a jump of 46-1.25

 

Casey Monahan scored huge points with the win today in the 110 meter hurdles. The senior from Mead ran a 14.82 and picked up 10 more points for the Panthers. Cory Okazaki from Emerald Ridge finished second with a 15.03 just ahead of state leader Garrett Gerling from Walla Walla in 15.04.

 

Mead’s AJ Maricich tied his PR and got a season best to win the high jump at 7-0, an inch over Skyline’s Kasen William at 6-11 who also tied his PR.
