Hanford boys, Southridge girls take team titles at Connell Invitational

Led by second-place finisher Lance Kindle and Nathan Wallace in fourth place, the Hanford boys cross country team won the 4A/3A division of the 35th annual Connell Invitational on Saturday.

The Falcons finished with 47 points to runner-up Southridge's 88. The Suns were led by third-place finisher Andrew Gonzalez.

The host Eagles won the 1A division led by 12th-place finisher Daniel Reyna. Chelan's Chase Anderson won the race in 16 minutes, 25 seconds, beating Kindle by two seconds.

In the girls race, Hanford sophomores Megan Dart and Haley Tank finished 2-3 behind Toppenish's Stacey Kobes (19:22), but the Falcons placed second to Southridge in the 4A/3A team standings. The Suns had five runners in the top 20, led by fourth-place Christina Lee.
