Roundup: Richland boys sweep Moses Lake, Wenatchee



Colton Casillas (200, 400 meters) and Tyler Noland (1,600, 3,200) were double winners for the Richland boys as they swept Moses Lake and host Wenatchee at a CBL 4A meet. Moses Lake's Tad Harman won the discus with an area-best throw of 157 feet, 6 inches.

HERMISTON -- Hermiston's boys and girls rolled to team titles at their own event, the Kiwanis Invitational on Saturday at Hermiston High School.

UMATILLA -- The Riverside boys and the Sherman County girls won the team titles at the River's Edge Invite on Friday in Umatilla.

With the Pasco Invite in the rear-view mirror, most area track teams welcomed WASL week as a chance to rest athletes and prepare for the second half of the season leading up to districts, regionals and state.

Roundup: Richland takes 2 from Moses Lake



Kiona-Benton's Emily Blizard swept the 100, 200 and 400 meters to lead the Bears to a fourth-place finish in the girls team standings at the Ron Vanderholm Invitational in Royal City.

Ki-Be sophomore Whitney Leavitt is just one of several favorites to take home the clock plaque awarded to the Invite's Most Outstanding Athletes.

Despite resting several standouts in anticipation of Saturday's 46th annual Pasco Invitational, Richland's boys and girls swept a pair of duals at a four-team CBL 4A meet at Yakima's Zaepfel Stadium, beating host Eisenhower and Pasco.

ROYAL CITY -- Cash Brown won the 100 for Connell in 11.2 seconds, just ahead of teammate Brandon Heinen as the Eagles boys and girls cruised to victories in a meet Tuesday in Royal City.

YAKIMA -- Richland's Kayla McKeirnan won four events at the Davis Invite, highlighted by a sub-minute 400 meters at 59.45 seconds.

Roundup: Hanford's Brockman shines at relay meet



Hanford senior Keefe Brockman was named Boys Outstanding Athlete at Saturday's Southridge Relays after posting the best marks in the long, triple and high jumps.
