Inglemoor Girls Win Big at Bellevue

The Inglemoor girls dominated the team competition scoring 102 points to Issaquah’s 65 points at the Bellevue Invitation Saturday. The Vikings had a strong presence in most of the events but winning only three. Becca Berge and Erin Allen went 1-2 in the 100 meter hurdles and Tess Parent got double victories in the long and triple jumps with marks of 18-2 and 36-6.

Eastlake had a very impressive performance in the distance races picking up victories in all three (800, 1600, and 3200.) The 4A State Cross Champs Wolves really flexed their muscle in the 1600 and 3200 going 1-2-3-8-10 in the 1600 and 1-2 in the 3200. Chelsea Orr, after her victory in the 800 (2:17.42), came back to win the 1600 win 5:06.92 followed by Katelyn Steen in 5:13.69 and Megan Batty in 5:16.32. Steen came back in the 3200 to get the victory in 11:19.35.

Kayla Adams from Thomas Jefferson had a big day in the throws picking up decisive victories in the shot put and discus. In the shot she put 42-11.5, which was nearly 5 feet over second place Sequim’s Anna LaBeaume (37-08.) In the discus her victory was over 21 feet over Brenda Agus from Interlake (103-00.) T-J swept the throws with a victory from Kendra Ansostigue with a throw of 116-10.

The other double winner of the day was Issaquah’s Haley Jacobson in the 100 (12.52) and 200 26.13.)
