Central Valley and Hanford split firsts and seconds at Prosser

Central Valley boys’ team and Hanford girls’ teams got victories while the schools flip-flopped for second place. CV boys scored 148.5 to Hanford’s 119.5 and the Hanford girls scored 126.5 to CV’s 104.

Girls:

Hanford ripped it up on the track winning 8 of 11 events and adding a high jump victory as well. Falcon Kahiesha Johnson won the 100 and 200 in 13.15 and 26.76. The Falcons also won all three relays on route to their victory.

Othello throwers also scored impressive victories on Saturday in Prosser. Tiffany Martinez heaved the discus 125-5, which bested second place Maci Whitby (111-08) and in the Javelin, Christine Kirkwood tossed a 146-6 throw.

Boys:

Overall depth was the strategy for the Bears in their victory by placing at least one person in each of the events (often two) except for the 4x100. CV did pick up victories in the high, long, and triple jumps.
