With the outdoor season underway, March provided an early look at Washington's top talent. Several performances already rank among the best in the nation, highlighting both established stars and emerging names to watch this spring.
DISTANCE
Cassidy Armstrong and Isaac Benjamin stand out with impressive performances in the 3200m from the Issaquah Icebreaker Invite, currently ranking in the U.S. top ten. Additionally, Kjirstern Ludeman and Ciana Johnson delivered outstanding performances in the 800m, currently ranking in the top ten in the U.S. and setting the stage for an exciting future duel. Cassidy Armstrong has established herself as the state's top distance runner early on, holding the No. 1 marks in both the 1600m and 3200m.

SPRINTERS
Carta Kason in the short hurdles and Kenyon Andrews in the long hurdles are the clear standout performers of Washington's sprint scene this March. Andrews is currently ranked U.S. No.4 in the 300m hurdles after running 36.16 at the Issaquah Icebreaker Invite, while Kason hit a huge personal best of 14.06, making sub-14 a real possibility this year. On the girls' side, the 400m dash is developing into an interesting event with senior Lauren Matthew leading the way at 55.75, with freshman Chloe Williams on her heels at 56.45.

Washington's field events are already showing an abundance of depth this season, led by Simon Rosselli in the throws and Yevhen Zhamailo, both of whom have achieved top 10 all-time marks in high school. Rosselli is currently the U.S. No. 2-ranked discus thrower, while Zhamailo is the U.S. No. 12-ranked long jumper. In the girls' triple jump, excitement is expected as three girls jumped over 39 feet, including Kayla Williams, Aaliyah Khan, and Rocklyn Osborn.
