— Bronwyn Crossman didn’t need to look over her shoulder this time.
The Squalicum senior easily won her second straight Class 3A state cross country meet individual title on Saturday at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.
“She’s the best I’ve ever coached,” said Storm coach Tim Irvin, who began coaching in 1977. “She’s tough as nails.”
Crossman was never challenged in the 3-kilometer race. She broke away from the pack at the one-mile mark and had opened an insurmountable 30- second lead shortly after two miles.
