Flanagan Wins Fourth National Cross Country Crown Feb 16, 2010

Shalane Flanagan won the women's 8K at the USA Cross Country Championships held in Spokane, Wash., on Saturday, February 13th. As the champion, Flanagan now qualifies to represent Team USA at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships on March 28th in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

Huth Places 10th at Cross Country Championships Feb 15, 2010

Northwestern freshman Audrey Huth (Shelby, Mich./Utica) placed 10th out of 39 runners in the women's junior division at the 2010 U.S. Cross Country Championships Saturday in Spokane, Wash. Huth improved on her previous-best 6K time by 26 seconds, crossing in 21:25.

Emily Jones Takes Fourth at USATF Cross Country National Championship Feb 15, 2010

Freshman cross country runner Emily Jones (Harvard, Mass./ Bromfield) finished fourth in the Junior 6K at the USA Track & Field Cross Country National Championships held Saturday in Spokane, Wash. In doing so, Jones qualified for the World Championships, which will be held on March 28 in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

Andrew Colley, the 2008 VHSL Group AA state cross country champion from Jamestown High School, earned himself a spot on the US junior team for the World Cross Country Championships via his third place time of 24:16 in the junior men's 8K race at the USATF Cross Country Nationals in Spokane, Washington this past weekend. Colley is currently a freshmen at North Carolina State and his third place showing on Saturday is one of the best performances by a current or former Virginia high school runner in the junior races at the US Nationals in recent history. Colley joins the likes of Bobby Lockhart (2001), Fleet Hower (2003), and Christo Landry (2005) as the only Virginians from this past decade to have earned a spot on the World Cross Country Championships team for the United States.

Shelby Greany wins USATF Jr. cross country title Tim Fulton Feb 13, 2010

Spokane, Was. - Providence College freshman Shelby Greany won the USATF Championship today.  Competing in the junior 6,000 meter, which is for athletes under 20 years old, Greany ran 20:27 to beat Emily Sisson of Chesterfield, Missouri by five seconds.
