Narrows League meet

The Gig Harbor guys overpowered their competition in the 4A division with a low of 30 points to beat Olympia by 40.  Wolfgang Beck led the way for Gig with a fine 15:21 & his team mate Logan Carroll was not far behind in 2nd with his 15:27.  Peter Kesting of Olympia ran 15:52:  a fine time for a sophomore runner on the Fort Steilacoom course.  Nate Van Haitsma of Olympia (15:55) took 4th & Tristan Peloquin of Gig Harbor 16:06 for Gig making it two sophomores in the top five this year.   Defending girls’ champion Brenna Peloquin is out for the season with a stress reaction and Sofia Kane, who placed second in this event last year, took advantage by earning the victory in a fine time of 18:19.   Rose Christen of Central Kitsap placed 2nd in 18:28 and Hannah Derby of Bellarmine Prep had her best race of the season earning third in 18:53.  Daryl Phill of BP followed with 18:53 and Jessica Peterson of South Kitsap finished 5th with 19:14.
