The best? It's clear to me Ellensburg Daily Record Mar 22, 2008

ELLENSBURG – Is Kayla Standish the best athlete to ever come out of Ellensburg?

That is a question that has been tossed around in the last couple of weeks and although I didn’t pose the question, I will weigh in on it.

While I can’t comment on the best ever part, I haven’t been around long enough to even begin to determine that, I can say this: In all my years of covering high school sports, Kayla is by far and away the best female athlete I have ever seen and I would put her in the top three of all-time athletes that I have covered.

Period.

Bulldogs place high in Ellensburg Invite Ellensburg Daily Record Sep 14, 2007

ELLENSBURG — Ellensburg runners Kevin Aubol and Matt Nodine jumped out to a quick lead and pushed each other to a 1-2 finish Saturday, leading the Bulldog boys’ cross country team to second place in the Ellensburg Invitational held at Rinehart Park.

Aubol took the individual title by covering the 2.3-mile course in a time of 12 minutes, 9 seconds. Nodine was second at 12:12 as both runners came within 10 seconds of the course record, set in 2006 by Isak Bergman.

But Selah, ranked 10th in the state, would leave town with the team title, outscoring Ellensburg 59-63.
