The Redmond boys and girls cross country teams galloped into the school
A lot of excited energy is building up in the final preparations for tomorrow\'s 4A KingCo Championship meet. And finally, someone else not named Zack will be crowned the individual champion in the 11-team race for the first time in two seasons.
Oh Lord, she\'s fast! Sarah Lord led the 5th ranked 4A Redmond Mustangs to victory over league rivals Eastlake, Juanita and Lake Washington last Thursday at Grasslawn Park. The Mustangs capped an undefeated regular dual-meet season as they finished out at 10-0 heading into this week\'s showdown at the KingCo Championship meet.Lord cruised on the flat and fast course, setting a new course record in 18:08. But unlike some of her previous races, Lord was challenged from the start with a pack of Eastlake Wolves on her heels. The Wolves, ranked just a spot ahead of Redmond in a previous 4A poll, put Redmond to the test, packing their top 6 in the lead pack in the early parts of the race.
Thanks to Dan Contraras of Redmond High School for putting this list of facts and figures together. Sunfair is one of the largest NW XC Events of the year and draws all the best and best want to be\'s.
